In the year 1969, Mr. Mahendra C Shah started manufacturing Hypophosphite. He was the first one to do so in India. He built up a factory at Dombivali, near Mumbai in the name of Hypophosphite & Co. with the help of National Chemical Laboratories and a German scientist Mr.------. This plant was the first plant in India to produce Hypophosphite Salts and Hypophosphorous Acid Handle, Yellow Phosphorous (P4) and Phosphine (PH3).
